- September 17, 2020 – EVE – Open to General Public, 2.25 hour event: He said… She Said… Surviving the Calendar with Sensitivity to Age, Gender, and Cultural Differences and Needs.
We will explore the differences between gender, age (child, tween, teen, and adult developmental differences in grief), cultural diversity (holiday needs spanning cultures such as Jewish, Christian, Latino/a/x, Korean, Buddhist, and other international cultures) all while preparing to deal with holidays and calendar events. - September 17, 2020 – DAY – event open to Professional Caregivers, 8 hour event:
A.M. The Ring of Fire: Trauma, Grief, & Complicated Grief: “complicate grief”, normal grief, secondary losses, and grief vs trauma.
We will look at complicated situations like how to help people grieve a not-so-loved one… when the deceased is the perpetrator… when there is a murder suicide… when the deceased died from addiction related illness, murder, or suicide. We will cover interventions such as gestalt therapy (Chair work; dream work; memorializing a complicated person; somatic interventions).

Join us on an afternoon journey through play, self-care, personal growth and stress-management tools that can help your grieving clients cope all while helping you to reconnect to yourself and to like-minded others. You’ll leave renewed, replenished and re-ignited. - September 18, 2020 – Won’t you be my neighbor: How to Care for Children & Teens with Disenfranchised Grief
Explore various forms of grief that most frequently affect children & teens (Pets, Grandparents raising their grandchildren, grandparent death, divorce, identity issues, bullying, incarceration, homelessness, parenting their own siblings, and secondary losses – Message to children — You are not alone… others do understand. Examples of Brenda teaching group to come up with a Secret Code/Sign to share in the hallway for good or bad day that no one else might know except those in grief group.
